APWA Convention

We exhibited our new software, iTracSigns at the APWA convention in Denver. Our software was viewed with excitement because of its great price and capabilities. We received clarification on the rulings with the FHWA’s compliancy dates and No, Agencies do NOT have to have all of their signs changed by January 22, 2012. This date might be postponed for 2 years, but the main compliancy issues on that date is for Agencies to have a method to Manage Their Signs, not to have them replaced by then. Be aware, there seems to be a lot of misinformation out there regarding the dates and proposed changes.

ATSSA Expo

The 2011 ATSSA Expo will be in Phoenix, AZ this year so right in our home town. We will be exhibiting there in booth 744 and have a corner booth this time. We hope everyone comes by to meet us and see all the great updates to our TCR Program.
iTracSigns is a brand new program we will be introducing at this years ATSSA. The Federal Government (FHWA) has issued new rulings regarding how Agencies keep track of their signs on Public Roadways. The first compliancy must be met by January 2012 with additional requirements by 2015 and 2018. Our new program will help Cities, Counties, States, other Agencies comply with these new rulings. Come by and see a Demo at our booth.

2009 News

August 2009

Sandy and I are happy to be celebrating our 5th year in business and the launching of our newest version of our TCR Software program called TCR Online. In doing so we have issued several press releases that are being published in various magazines. The web based magazine Women and BIZ has published an article about us and how we got started. Below is a link to that article:

June 2009

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 1, 2009 – Phoenix, Arizona – TCR (Traffic Control Rental) Software celebrates it’s 5th successful year with the launch of “TCR Online”, the new Web-based offering enabling traffic control rental businesses to track the thousands of pieces of equipment they use.
In 1994, Ken and Barbara Hyde, then owners of Statewide Barricade in Phoenix, AZ, needed to automate their traffic control rental business to track equipment rentals. They realized the software they needed didn’t exist so they developed their own.
They met and partnered with Sandy Ramsey from Programs R Us, Inc. of Gilbert, AZ. Sandy’s experience as a programmer and Barbara’s business experience made for a useful meeting of the minds. They were able to design a software program that catered to the unique needs of the barricade industry.
Statewide’s customers soon noticed how well their equipment was being tracked and the proactive approach Statewide was taking to keep them up on all of their various jobs.
The Hydes sold Statewide Barricade in 2001. Past employees who had come to depend on the tracking software later contacted the Hydes and Ms. Ramsey to purchase the software for new employers. Trafficade, who purchased Statewide, also purchased the software. “It’s become the backbone for our clients’ operations and we’re thrilled.” states Barbara Hyde, Partner.
This was the beginning of what is now TCR Software.
Today, after 5 years of growing TCR Software nationally, Hyde and Ramsey are proud to introduce “TCR Online”. With the help of Yagna Soft, they rewrote the software, originally developed in Microsoft Access. The new Web-based application uses Microsoft’s SQL database engine and enables TCR to offer customers the same features of the original software, plus many added benefits. By paying a small monthly licensing fee, companies can accurately track and bill their equipment rentals online without the larger up front expense of licensing software and buying the necessary hardware. In tough economic times, it allows companies to better utilize their cash flow for equipment purchases.
“Each charge has to be accurately calculated and tracked for companies to manage their bottom line. With our software and now lower-cost online offering, dispatchers can quickly create and print delivery tickets for drivers, jobs can be monitored and invoicing is a snap” states Sandy Ramsey, Partner at TCR Software.
With the online offering, TCR Software plans to add a lot of additional features such as RFID (radio frequency id) for tracking equipment, hand-held PDA type devices for drivers to complete tickets out in the field and a digital dashboard for management to see key elements of the business on one page.

Certified Payroll: Many of our customers do Certified Payroll for their State jobs. TCR Software now has the ability to keep track of your Certified Payroll through various reports that subtotal the employee hours by Regular and Certified time (including separate totals for OT/DT). These new reports can be printed by employee or by job. You also have the ability to track special certified job information such as rate code, job code, work class, base rate and fringes. These reports give you enough information to easily input your data into your payroll program. This is an additional feature to our Labor Tracking Module.
Flasher Barricade Association: TCR Software is proud to be a part of Flasher Barricade Association in California. We will be once again attending their November 1-3, 2007 meeting in Santa Ana, California. Please visit their website for more details. (www.flasherbarricade.com). At every November’s meeting they have a golf tournament and a Vendor Night which is always a lot of fun as well as informative. If you live in California or a western state, come and join us.

Sandy and I are pleased to announce our newest “Baby” has arrived. Our Quote Module is now ready and it is really exciting for us. We know having this module will be a definite asset to our program so you can not only track your jobs, but your quotes as well. Please call Barbara to arrange an online demo on this new module for our TCR Software Program.
QuickBooks Link: Also new to our program is our link to Quick Books. After printing and posting your invoices in TCR Software, you have an option to export your invoices (header information – invoice #, date, customer, invoice total as well as breakdown by revenue accounts) to an IIF file. The file is then imported into QuickBooks where you will track your receivables.

April 2007

Sandy and I are pleased to announce that very soon we will be adding a new module that will greatly enhance our TCR Software Program. We have been asked by many to have a Quoting Module where you can put your quote together using your existing line items. When the job is approved you will have all of the information you need about what was quoted, what is needed for the job and when it will start. Sandy has been working very hard on this new module and we are excited to share it with all of our customers.

2006 News

November 2006

TCR Software recently became members of Flasher Barricade Association (FBA) in California and attended their trade show in Santa Ana, California in November. The trade show was a huge success as Sandy and I met so many nice people. They had delicious food and the camaraderie between the companies who belong was great. For those who don’t know much about FBA it is a western regional association helping mostly California barricade companies, but also have members in Washington, Nevada, Arizona and Colorado. Any company who is based in the west please check out FBA and join. It is a great organization that does some really good things.

March 2006
